"Among fears that due to extreme rapid melting the Arctic could be free of summer ice in the next two years, a contingent of some of the brightest minds in the science of climate change that
includes NASA's chief scientist, the director of the US National Science Foundation, representatives from the US Department of Homeland Security and the Pentagon will be meeting at the White
House this week. Joining them in Washington will be Professor Carlos Duarte, a marine scientist from Perth, who is one of 10
researchers from around the world called on to help protect the Arctic.
Professor Duarte, who leads the University of Western Australia's Oceans Institute, warned the Arctic was suffering and the "snowballing" situation would prove as hard to slow down as a runaway train."
Article 'The Sun is changing the rate of radioactive decay, and breaking the rules of chemistry'
by Alasdair Wilkins
"The Sun is changing the supposedly constant rates of decay of radioactive elements, and we have absolutely no idea why. But an entirely unknown particle could be behind it. Plus, this
discovery could help us predict deadly solar flares.
It's one of the most basic concepts in all of chemistry: Radioactive elements decay at a constant rate. If that weren't the case, carbon-14 dating wouldn't tell us anything reliable about the age of archaeological materials, and every chemotherapy treatment would be a gamble. It's such a fundamental assumption that scientists don't even bother testing it anymore. That's why researchers had to stumble upon this discovery in the most unlikely of ways."

*”The solar variability links climate through changes in heat input to the lower atmosphere, changes in ozone concentration in the troposphere and the stratosphere and modulation of galactic and solar cosmic rays.
These effects are modulated by long term solar magnetic activity, by changes of the source of galactic and solar cosmic rays and by change of the Earth’s magnetic field.
The effect of CRs on climate is through the cloud cover/cloud formation rather than direct energy input into the atmosphere, which is almost 10^-5 times smaller than solar input.”
A.Singh, D. Siingh, R. Singh; Impact of galactic cosmic rays on Earth’s atmosphere and human health; S. 3807; Elsevier; India; 2011
The Sun is the star at the center of our Solar System and has a diameter of about 1,392,684 km, is about 109 times that of Earth, and its mass (about 2×1030 kilograms, 330,000 times that of Earth) accounts for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. It is almost perfectly spherical and consists of hot plasma interwoven with magnetic fields.1
„The Sun is also the source of heat and light that maintain Earth’s habitable environment, and serves as the ultimate source of energy for life itself. It is also the origin of visible and invisible influence that affects the Earth, Earth’s space environment, and poses a health and safety threat to humans and all kinds of human activities (Bothmer and Daglis, 2006; Breus et al., 2002; Song et al., 2001). The geomagnetic field which protects the Earth from solar wind and cosmic rays is also essential to the evolution of life. When the geomagnetic environment is disturbed, it can have either direct or indirect effect on human physiology even the magnitude of disturbance is small.”2
“The relations between space weather changes and the human health have global implications, but they are especially important for habitants living at high geomagnetic latitudes where the geomagnetic disturbances have larger amplitudes. Nevertheless, the relevant researches are also important for humans living at any geomagnetic latitudes.
Unfortunately, limited comparison of results of investigations on possible effects to humans from geomagnetic activity exists between studies conducted in high, middle and low latitudes. Knowledge about the relationship between solar and geomagnetic activity and the human health would allow to get better prepared beforehand for any future geomagnetic event and its impacts anywhere.”3

Dr. Elizabeth Rauscher and her husband, Dr. William Van Bise, are able to present research results about the fluctuations in the magnetic fields generated by the earth and in the ionsphere. A sensitive magnetic field detector makes it possible to monitor the geomagnetic field and pulsations and resonances associated with ionospheric excitations.
For this purpose, The Global Coherence Initiative, a collaborative research project with the Institute of HeartMath, Dr. Rauscher and other engineers and scientists, was founded with the purpose to design, build and maintain a Global Coherence Monitoring System (GCMS). The GCMS directly measures the changes in the magnetic fields.
Their research also led them to the conclusion that, two or three weeks prior to earthquakes or volcanic eruptions, the Earth’s magnetic field changes. Dr. Rauscher and Dr. Van Bise were able to predict 84 percent of the seismic activity occurring within 100 square mile area around a single detector.
A new field of research is building around how the fields generated by living systems and the ionosphere interact with one another. The frequencies which are generated by the Earth and the ionosphere, range from 0.01 hertz to 300 hertz.
Some of the large resonances that are occurring in the Earth’s field are in the same frequency range as those of the human heart and brain.
Studies show that changes in the Earth’s magnetic field are associated with changes in brain and nervous systems activity, performance of athletic, memory, sensitivity in a wide range of extrasensory perception experiments; synthesis of nutrients in plants and algae; the number of reported traffic violations and accidents; mortality from heart attacks and strokes; and incidence of depression and suicide. Changes in geomagnetic conditions affect the rhythms of the heart more strongly than all the physiological functions studied so far.

We've all seen the horrific images of hundreds of innocent women burned or crushed to death in factories while making our clothes. In the next few days we can get companies to stop it happening again.
Big fashion brands source from hundreds of factories in Bangladesh. Two brands, including Calvin Klein, have signed a very strong building and fire safety pact. Others, led by Wal-Mart, have been trying to wriggle out of signing by creating a weak alternative that was pure PR. But the latest disaster has triggered crisis meetings andmassive pressure to sign the strong version that can save lives.
